I Could Get Used to This..

My mom's good friend took me out for lunch one day at a gorgeous restaurant on the top floor of the Prince Building in Central. It had a huge wraparound balcony with amazing views of the city. The whole place was really beautifully decorated, and the food was really good. It was pretty pricey, but worth it. I got the salmon salad the first time, no pic though, and something called a Dosa the second time. A dosa is pretty much a HUGE Indian crepe that is filled with curry, or vegetables. I got one with sauteed spinach and mushrooms.

This one was my brothers. It had butter chicken inside.

I did manage to bake a couple times while I was away, surprisingly! I made a carrot cake for my cousin in his MINI kitchen. It was quite interesting...no measuring cups, pot for a mixing bowl, and we baked it in his microwave/oven. I don't have a picture of that one, but I do have one of the other cake I baked. I tried out a recipe for French Yogurt Cake at my mom's friend's house. It turned out really well except for the fact that it tasted like peanuts. I foolishly assumed that the oil that she gave me (it was in an unlabeled container) was corn or sunflower oil. It was actually peanut oil. Should've smelled it first! It still tasted good....just very peanut-y!

I also bought fresh cream, which I whipped up with a whisk, blackberries, strawberries, and mini mangoes! I'd never seen them before and had to buy them. They were about the size of a large strawberry, and were so good. It was a lot of work peeling and cutting them though, since they were so small.
