E and I tend to be known by our friends for making cupcakes and jello shooters, as we make them quite often for birthdays around here.
This is quite a feat considering that we lived in the tin box mentioned earlier- said tin box's kitchen consisted of a microwave, a stolen toaster, and a sink. We aren't THAT amazing as we didn't make the cupcakes in the microwave or toaster, but still kind of amazing.
Since both cupcakes and jello shooters rock our socks, we decided to name our blog after them.
Here are a few pics of the fan-freaking-tastic cupcakes that we've made here so far. Oh and a pic of some multi-coloured jello shooters as well.
Specimen #1:
Cookie Monster Cupcakes for C's 23rd Birthday.

They were supposed to be Cookie Monster cupcakes, but turned out looking a lot more like aliens with cookies in their mouths.
Blue sprinkles don't exist in Australia apparently, so really, we were at a disadvantage right from the get go and it's really not our fault. Also, we lacked the ingredients and tools to make buttercream icing which resulted in the melty eye situation you see below. HOWEVER, they were delicious, and they have a certain (creepy) charm, no?
Specimen #2:

These cupcakes were made for our Housewarming party. We love the Aussie phrase "Sweet as" a LOT, and use it quite frequently. At least 6 times per day...even though it does not make any grammatical sense.
Specimen #3:

These cupcakes were made for our friend K's birthday. Blue sprinkles AND teddy grahams do not exist here. Well, actually that might not be true, as I was informed that there are Teddy Graham-like cookies here, but we couldn't find them anywhere in Coles. We used a Kid's Chocolate Teddy Cereal of some sort. They served their purpose as decorations, but got really soggy/weird after sitting in that intense blue icing for too long. Aren't they cute though??
And lastly, the multi-coloured jello shooters from C's birthday. Note the lovely ironing board they are sitting on? We're pretty sure there were multiple types of mould, bacteria, other organisms living in it. That is the bungalows for you! We're high rollers.
